Almost exactly 30 months after the start of the total performance competition, the extension of the primary school and the new kindergarten building at Weiden in Rapperswil-Jona have been handed over for school operations. The City of Rapperswil-Jona project creates urgently needed space for the forecast growth in pupil numbers.
Combining the competition, planning and construction phases within such a short timeframe was an ambitious goal. To achieve it, Fanzun organised a total performance competition that enabled efficient planning and construction. The contract was awarded to the general contractor Schär Holzbau AG from Altbüron and Humm Burkart Architekten GmbH from Lucerne. Efficient cost management contributed significantly to the project’s success: with a construction sum of around 18 million francs, the cost per classroom is less than half the average in the city of Zurich.
As client representative, Fanzun coordinated, monitored and steered the general contractor through all project phases. Clear communication strategies and consistent quality management ensured that the required quality standards, deadlines and cost targets were met.
