Successful acceptance of the Curtegns stress-ribbon bridge in Radons

The new pedestrian and cycle bridge in Radons has been successfully accepted and will soon be opened to the public. With a span of 50 metres, it connects two riverbanks and blends naturally into the Grisons landscape.

Fanzun carried out the planning and realisation in an engineering consortium with Widmer Ingenieure AG umgesetzt. The structure posed considerable challenges: the non-linear calculation of the cables, taking into account the pre-stressed load-bearing grid, presented a particular engineering challenge. Four load-bearing cables (two per side), each 55 mm in diameter, safely carry the 1.83-metre-wide bridge across the floodplain..

The result is convincing – functional and, at the same time, an architectural highlight in the region. A walk across the new bridge is well worth it.
