The intergenerational building „Haus am Mühlbach“ enters the construction phase

For the Bodmer residential scheme for the elderly in Chur, we are implementing the „Haus am Mühlbach“, a new-build with 30 assisted living apartments for senior citizens and a kindergarten on the ground floor. The ground-breaking ceremony on Wednesday signalled the start of construction. Residents will be able to move into the apartments from mid-2019 onwards.

Since 1965, the Bodmer residential scheme for the elderly has offered various residential forms under one roof. The range is now being expanded further with the „Haus am Mühlbach“. Thirty 2.5 and 3.5-room apartments accessible to the disabled, offering a view over the old town of Chur, meet the highest standards with regard to living comfort and security. An integrated emergency call service guarantees rapid assistance in an emergency. On request, further services of the neighbouring home can be used, from regular events to full board.

A place for all generations

The factor that makes the „Haus am Mühlbach“ an intergenerational building is the ground floor, which has multiple uses. In addition to a spacious lobby that invites visitors to stay a while, there is also an office of the Spitex with a fitness room and a therapeutic pool, as well as a small workshop. The Bodmer kindergarten is also to be found there, in a new, modern home with adjoining garden playground. This means regular encounters between young and old, thus increasing the quality of life for all.

Minergie-P standard

Quality of living and cost-effectiveness go hand in hand at the „Haus am Mühlbach“. The building meets the Minergie-P standard and offers a high degree of comfort with a lot of natural light, natural materials and modern ventilation.
