On 3 November 2025, the groundbreaking ceremony for the extension to the Lust multi-purpose hall in Maienfeld was celebrated. The project will create space for care and community: multi-purpose rooms on the ground floor, and premises for a children’s after-school care facility with lunch club on the upper floor.
Fanzun was commissioned by the city of Maienfeld with the specialist civil engineering planning. The two-storey timber construction rests on a concrete floor slab with concrete foundations and impresses with a floor-to-ceiling timber frame structure on the upper floor. This allows for a striking cantilever and gives the building its distinctive character.
We thank the city of Maienfeld for the commission and their trust, as well as BHP Architekten AG for the good collaboration. A successful example of how contemporary building culture enriches public infrastructure.
