On 1 November 2017, we opened a new branch in Berne. Alongside Chur, Samedan, Scuol and Zurich, the federal capital is the fifth adopted home of our growing company. For our clients, this means that their projects benefit with immediate effect from even more expertise and shorter distances throughout the German-speaking region of Switzerland.
„We are delighted to be able to take this step at last,“ emphasises Andrea Fanzun, Partner and CEO. „With the site in Berne, we are increasing our team to more than 80 staff and can meet the continued strong demand for our services even better. We also now ideally cover the entire German-speaking region from St. Gallen and Zurich to Berne and are thus closer to our clients.“
The new office in Wölflistrasse in Berne currently offers space for ten employees who are primarily active in the areas of overall project management and representation of the building owner as well as costs planning and construction management. The branch is headed up by Markus Schmalz who is a member of the Executive Board. The team is deployed, among others, on the Brünnen area of land in Berne. An apartment complex with 121 apartments is to be created by 2020 on one of the last remaining construction sites. A replacement construction of an outdated housing development in Burgdorf with 175 apartments is also on the to-do list. Several projects are already in the pipeline for 2018.
One of the largest and most topical projects is the complete refurbishment of Zurich Central Station which will start next year. Fanzun is taking over the management of construction in this mammoth project. There were also well-known buildings in the portfolio in the past – for instance, Fanzun had a leading role in the overall refurbishment and extension of the Dolder Grand Hotel in Zurich for CHF 450 million in 2009. This year, in the area of energy efficiency, Fanzun was awarded the first Minergie A and P certification in Switzerland as well as the 3rd PlusEnergieBau® Solar Prize for the newly renovated commercial building of the company Caotec in Brusio.
