Topping-out ceremony for Weiden primary school in Jona – a milestone reached in record time!

The extension of the primary school and the new building of the Weiden kindergarten in Jona have reached an important milestone with the topping-out ceremony. The project by the city of Rapperswil-Jona creates urgently needed space for the forecasted increase in pupil numbers.

A project with an ambitious timeline

The particular challenge: only three years lie between the first enquiry in August 2023 and the handover to the school in summer 2026. To meet this demanding timeline, Fanzun organised a design-and-build competition, enabling efficient planning and execution. The contract was awarded to the general contractor Schär Holzbau AG from Altbüron and Humm Burkart Architekten GmbH from Lucerne.

Fanzun’s role as client representative

As client representative, Fanzun coordinates, controls and manages the appointed general contractor through all project phases. The focus is on an efficient and smooth planning process. Through clear communication strategies and consistent quality management, we ensure that the required quality, deadlines and cost compliance are maintained.
