ÖKK Headquarters, Landquart

Starting situation and idea

Within just 10 years, ÖKK needed a new headquarters due to shortage of space. The legal basis for construction was created through a formal site planning procedure, which paved the way to build a new structure in place of the old RhB employee quarters.

Lösungsansatz

The four-storey office building offers space for 300 workplaces facing either the façade or the roofed courtyard. The foyer, meeting rooms and a restaurant are located on the ground floor. The two basement floors contain technical installations, the archive and an underground car park.

Challenges

The exposed concrete structure meant that the interior had to be built concurrently with the shell. Designing the prefabricated concrete members, coordinating technical installations and building to meet high standards posed major challenges to the managers and supervisors.
