The municipality of Churwalden is planning the construction of a nursing facility and assisted living units. As a partner for operation and realisation, the municipality selected Oase with its forward-looking concept. Fanzun already manages several projects for Oase Holding AG and was therefore commissioned, together with the architecture firm SPPA Architekten, to develop the project.
By splitting the building volume into two separate structures, one for nursing care and the other for assisted living, the challenging situation can be resolved in a straightforward way. The compact volumes are organised efficiently in order to meet Oase’s strict economic targets.
The building plot opposite the outdoor swimming pool in the municipality of Churwalden has a steep gradient. Due to the topographical conditions, a design had to be found that is suitable for operations and provides accessibility for people with disabilities.
