Construction begins on alpine solar power plant Madrisa Solar

As part of the «Madrisa Solar» project, an innovative alpine solar plant is being built below the Madrisa ski area in Klosters. From 2028, it will supply more than 3’500 households with clean winter electricity. Located at an altitude of around 2000 metres and ideally oriented to the south, the project promises above-average yields, particularly during the winter months – making a targeted contribution to closing the winter electricity gap.

Working closely with Madrisa Solar AG, Fanzun is involved as general planner from the site search and development through to the legally binding building permit. The plans include more than 3100 solar tables and six transformer stations, which together will generate around 17 GWh of electricity per year.

The Madrisa solar plant is designed for high efficiency and outstanding environmental compatibility. Fanzun plays a central role in the areas of energy and sustainability, project management and development, and construction management.

Thanks to favourable weather conditions, initial preparatory work has already been brought forward. The plant will be built in stages starting in spring 2025 and is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of 2027.
