Starting situation and idea

Wäscheria is a historic laundry with production sites in Ilanz and Samedan. In view of the two decentral locations, customers are served from Mittelbünden and Churer Rheintal. When Lingerie of the Resort Bad Ragaz closed down, Wäscheria Bad Ragaz AG was founded as a joint venture.

Approach

The layout of the existing floor area was designed to suit production processes with separate sections for offices/administration, staff and technical installations. In effect, a high-tech core was inserted into an existing shell.

Challenges

Several industries had been settled in the former site of the electronics industry. The site offered adequate height and basements to install the supply and drainage lines for industrial laundry equipment such as washing machines, tumblers ironer-dryers.
